“As you wish.”

In the fictional kingdom of Florin lives a beautiful young lady named Buttercup who is in love with farm boy Westley. However, in seek of fortune to marry her, Westley’s presumedly killed.

Five years later, Buttercup is betrothed to Prince Humperdinck, a man she cannot bring herself to love. Before the wedding, Princess Buttercup is kidnapped by three outlaws! :0

Of course, the prince goes after her, but so does a stranger in black. The rest of the film is a thrilling adventure filled with action, tragedy, and romance.

I’d rather not spoil this one too much as I think everyone should watch it at least once. The film feels like a classic fairytale brought to life and I love the narrative framing with the grandson and grandpa.

The film is cheesy. The dialogue and certain costumes (*the man in black*) are goofy, but the love story between Buttercup and Wesley is endearing. I LOVE the scene where she doesn’t recognize him (about halfway through the film) trust me, it’s both hilarious and adorable. 😂

I will say that Buttercup is an interesting “princess.” While not truly being royal, she’s beautiful, witty, and loyal- all traits to be admired. 🙂
