Summer is here!! The sun is shining, beach vacations are in, and late night parties with friends are a must, so you’ll want to look your best as you make some ✨magical✨ memories! I’ve compiled a list of five skincare trends for the summer 2023 season based on what’s popular within the beauty community online. I’ve had a lot of fun researching the best trends to consider following and I’ll be trying most of these myself.
The number one most important rule to remember is to WEAR SUNSCREEN!! Whether you’re pale like me or can tan wonderfully, you need to protect your skin! Sunscreen will keep you from aging prematurely and lessen your chances of getting skin cancer. I wear sunscreen everyday, even if I’m only outside for an hour.
Hypochlorous Acid is second on the list. This is a new discovery for me, but after looking through social media, I’ve noticed a lot of people adding it to their skin care routine in the form of a serum or cleanser. According to an article by Tatiana Diaz for Vouge India
“[Hypochlorous Acid] is great for people with psoriasis, eczema, and even acne. It not only fights bacteria, but also speeds up healing. Additionally, hypochlorous acid also decreases itching.”
Number three on the list is At-Home Skin Tech. I had a lot of fun looking at the different inventions made specifically for skin care. Most that I’ve found are anywhere from $100-$200 dollars, but there are cheaper options that are lower than $40 if you aren’t committed to spending a lot on skin care. Click here to review a list of products! I would love to try the My Skin Buddy someday… even if it’s almost $300… 😂
Makeup/Skincare Hybrids continue to be trendy as we enter the summer season! Who doesn’t want to feel beautiful while also taking care of their skin?? Moisturizing foundations, lip tints, glowing makeup serums are all staying relevant in the beauty community as the modern market continues to focus on repairing our natural skin rather than burying it in harmful products.
Last on the list in ingestible skincare, which means eating vitamin rich foods that help keep your skin healthy from the inside out. It’s the most obvious piece of advise as our outer appearance often reflects our inner care. For me personally, the two foods that have helped with my skincare are blueberries and seaweed. (yes, really!) Blueberries contain high antioxidant levels and anti-ageing properties. Seaweed is also a great source of vitamins and minerals, specifically vitamin B12. It can also help with your thyroid function! There are a lot of great foods for skincare, so click here if you’d like to read through a list. Make sure to drink lots of water too!!
My goal with this list is to provide you with some fun tips and helpful resources that’ll make you feel more confident with your outer appearance. True beauty is within, but feeling comfortable in your own skin can help you feel like your most beautiful self! Comment below what skincare trends you’ll be following or other helpful advice you think should be on this list!
